Heavy steps made their way up the front stairs to the main doors of the estate, wasting no time in anything else as he made his way up. He pushed the doors open aggressively, “Not now.” Cutting in, not letting the maid take his coat or even greet him. Walking with purpose and suppressed anger, seething perhaps, Afton made a sharp turn to walk up the stairs, left hand sliding up the rail as he hoisted himself over each step as if to make himself reach his destination faster.
Afton steered clear of this wing as often as he could, didn’t need distractions from his youngest brother causing havoc wherever he went. He had enough on his plate trying to keep his parents happy and off his back, balancing a business and keeping up a so fragile image. This was the last straw. He didn’t know where either of his parents were, they likely knew he was home now anyway, but it didn’t matter because they didn’t care. In fact they could probably sense his anger from wherever they were if they paid attention to it. It had been awhile since Afton had actually had any real conversations with his siblings, so focussed on everything else lately he hadn’t really caught up with what was happening for other people inside the home.
And the cause of this reminded him why he kept contact to a minimum during these times.
Swiftly striding past doors in the hallway, it was obvious he knew exactly where he was going and who he was looking for. He knew Asher was around here. Afton could keep his anger to himself, but when someone else’s problems dragged him into theirs that’s when he drew the line. Shoving the door open he stormed in the room without a care. There was little respect towards his youngest brother and invading the younger’s own living space was just another show that he was in charge.
For a moment, Afton considered calming himself, don’t let all his anger show. But it quickly resurfaced when he made eye contact with the one he was looking for. Stopping for a moment, he walked forward until he could grab the younger by the collar and push him to the nearest wall, uncaring if it hurt or not. Deeply breathing he gave the younger a hard stare, “You.” Though he tried to not come across as if he was about to kill his brother, there was no mistake that Afton was not in a patient mood. “You know what you’ve done? Hm?” He questioned, “Some of those commoners out there, Asher,” Nodding in the general direction of the window, “are refusing to pay the full price of rent because they’re claiming,” his voice was notably calmer this time, trying to avoid shouting though he wanted to.”that the youngest Branwen brother has been causing chaos for them,” he explained, visibly getting angrier as his voice rose. This time staring much harder at his brother in the eyes, “You know what that means, hm?” lowly he voiced out, questioning the younger to make sure he was listening. “It means, Asher, that you’re disrupting not only them and their businesses but along with it, this business and this family’s image!” He shouted, hands tightening in the bit of clothing he’d grabbed onto near the younger’s neck.
