Personality:
The youngest of the family, and the only to not fully be born to the Branwen line, Asher is the rebellious one in the family, a loner by nature often finding ways to play pranks on the people of Taras. Ash fell into a dark place upon discovering the fate that had befallen his birth-mother, consumed by anger, hurt and loss, he often takes his frustrations out by using what magical powers he has to pester the common folk of the kingdom.
History:
The Branwen line has always been a line consumed by magics. They have been a family of pure blooded Witches dating back to the founding of Taras and specialize in the study of magics. Edgar Branwen, Asher's father, is married to a cold and cruel woman who gave birth to three sons who all hold a claim to the pure Branwen line. Ash was a product of Edgar's tryst with his wife's fairy handmaid, Olivia Corbin, who gave birth to her half-blood son Asher Corbin. When the lady of the house, Felicia Branwen, found out about this she had Asher's mother assassinated in secret, covering up the murder as an accident as far as public record goes.
Ash was raised by handmaids and often treated like a lesser being by his brothers and Felicia, ignored by his father Edgar who was far too distracted by his duties to Taras's magics to be bothered with his sons, especially a half-blood. The hybrid has no claim to the Branwen estate, but publicly is considered a Branwen and one of Felicia's son to dissuade rumors.
The boy spent much time on his own, reading through the magical tomes and delving in to the studies alongside his brothers, despite his powers being much weaker than theirs. It took him much longer than them to master a spell, but he specializes in Darkness Manipulation, or the mastery over shadows, themselves. He learned how to move objects simply by utilizing his own shadow to interact with that of the objects. It was his specialty and often the magic he uses to toy with common people as it's far more difficult to see someone's shadow moving an object's than someone directly moving the item itself. He would pull chairs out from beneath others, topple towers of apples. Never anything actually dangerous to someone's well-being, but small acts of rebellion to make himself feel better.
It was in his late teens he was riffling through Felicia's private things and he discovered the paper trail that pointed to her as his birth-mother's murderer. Enraged, he tried to attack the mistress of the estate but was swiftly put in his place by the Branwen's guard, locked up and mercilessly beaten, scars marring his back from the brutal kiss of a whip as a permanent reminder that he was too insignificant to do anything about his mother's death, the incriminating letters burned by Felicia before his very eyes.
He has no proof. Only unbridled anger.
