Personality:
Aurelius is a proud and boisterous man, perfectly aware of his massive stature and using it to propel himself into decisions that may be considered foolhardy or childish. He seeks thrills and gets a kick out of causing troublesome fun.
Should what he cherishes the most be insulted, be it particular individuals or beliefs, he is swift to act on protectiveness and anger. Despite his intentions, he loves his people, and he is loyal to a fault to those who earn his respect.
Although Aurelius harbors values that are considered traditional to his people, he tries to keep an open mind. He considers it a challenge of will to be exposed to new ideas and beliefs, and whether he agrees with them or not will only strengthen his own resolve.
History:
Hailing from the foreign shores of Yhavastus, King Aurelius Adalbern seeks knowledge of a more civilized nation with hopes of discovering peaceful means of living to take back and implement into his war-torn homeland. However, he travels under the guise of seeking glory and conquest to appease the beliefs of his people. It would be foolish to assume that this quest fully aligns with his own feelings, the struggle of survival on battlefields being his happy place. Yet he ponders on where it may eventually lead his people as the rest of the world changes. Perhaps isolation, or worse - extinction.
Born to a human father and a werefolk mother, Aurelius grew up cultivating both his skill as a warrior and his unfaltering freewill as a beast. It is argued that the bear was always present with him, even as a child, but it was not until he witnessed his father being struck down that the werefolk bloodline changed him physically.
The path to kinghood was solidified. Red was a holy color, and Aurelius turned snow into rubies on his warpath against rival clans, wearing the crown of his own.
Somewhere along the way, he saw the aftermath of a certain battle through different eyes. He felt akin to what a mother might feel, witnessing her children suffering, and he credited his own mother for this odd emotion making itself at home in his heart. Would he be the king of man? Or would he aspire to be more like a mother bear?
Aurelius is aware that in order for a new world to rise, his must fall - and so he must fall with it. The way he sees it, his arrival in the capital of Atelus marks the beginning of this journey to his end. So long as the future of his people promised health and happiness, he sails forth with teeth bared in the widest of smiles.
