Noticing Sophia's excitement about wandering Taras to gather ideas was the last push Kendry needed to disregard any other concerns that were fighting for his attention. A sincere smile spread across his face. "Well, then, if I may make a recommendation for food, this stall may be a good place to start," he suggested, nodding back toward the stall where he had purchased the jerky. "Maybe we can look into taverns for beverages and music. Supporting the local businesses of Taras could appeal to the population."
When Kendry entered Taras in the dark hours of the morning, he was a mercenary, hired to perform the unethical deeds of others. Now, with the midday sun drifting overhead, he was a party planner. It wasn't unusual for him to pretend to be things that he wasn't, but the odd thing about this situation was that maybe, just maybe, he felt a little bit like himself.

Sophia nodded again when Kendry nodded towards the stall that they had purchased the jerky from, thinking that that would be quite fantastic. It was something that wasn't served at the castle that often, like she had said before. It would be something unique for the nobles and whatnot. And it was delicious as well...
He spoke again about looking at other taverns and the like for beverages and music, and she nodded once more. That was a good idea too, infuse some money into Taras. Not that they weren't fairly well off, but people always liked more money. It could boost the economy quite a bit to use items from around Taras. "Great ideas."
She moved towards the booth and spoke rapidly with the owner, giving him a rundown of just what she was thinking. He agreed rather quickly, looking forward to the payout that would come.
She moved back to Kendry with a smile. "He agreed, we'll just have to let him know when we're actually planning the party and he'll be ready." She glanced around, debating just where to go next. "I'm not sure of any of the other places around here really. Do you have a suggestion for a tavern for drinks?"

Kendry stayed put when Sophia moved to speak to the stall owner, taking this short opportunity to gather his thoughts and feelings as he watched the queen speak to the delighted merchant. A dull panic settled itself into his chest, contrasting the euphoria that danced in his mind - it was a tug-of-war of emotions that quieted the marketplace activity around him into a hum.
You're tossing yourself into a stormy sea by playing this game with the Queen of Atelus. She'll find out, and she'll have you hanged.
But isn't it nice to hear your name from the lips of someone who doesn't despise you at this moment? Should she find out, at least there would be this day to remember. She spoke your name kindly.
Kendry jumped when Sophia spoke to him, surprised that he didn't even notice her approach him. "Ah, uh," he stuttered, clapping his hands together to create a small barrier between them. "A tavern? I... It has been some time since I've been in Taras, but I'm sure we'll run into plenty of promising business in The Streets."

Sophia was a bit startled that Kendry jumped when she came back to him, wondering what he was thinking about. She frowned slightly, but said nothing about it. She knew it had be hard to talk to her, it wasn't like she was a normal person. There was definitely something different about speaking to someone like her.
When he said that he hadn't been in Taras for a while, she nodded her head. She knew the city attracted lots of people from outside towns, if they had business here or the like.
"All right, we can find a nice looking one together." She grinned at him again before turning to the guards and speaking with them quickly, letting them know what she was up to. The one grunted slightly, and argued just a little, but finally relented. She turned back to Kendry. "Lead the way?"
